Kratom strains explained
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tree in the coffee family, native to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Borneo. Its leaves are dried and milled into powder. Strain names describe two things: the colour of the vein running through the leaf when it was picked, and the region the leaf came from.
Red vein kratom
Most mature leaf
Harvested latest, from the most mature leaves. Red Bali, Red Maeng Da, Red Borneo, Red Thai and Red Sumatra are our biggest sellers by volume and the usual starting point for first-time buyers.
Green vein kratom
Mid harvest
Picked between the white and red harvests. Green Malay, Green Maeng Da, Green Bali, Green Borneo and Green Thai sit in the middle of the range and are the most commonly re-ordered category on the site.
White vein kratom
Earliest harvest
Taken from younger leaves early in the cycle. White Maeng Da, White Borneo, White Bali, White Malay and White Thai round out the range.

Yellow and gold kratom are named for the drying and curing process rather than a separate vein colour. Gold Bali and the yellow range are the smallest part of our catalogue and worth a sample first.
Region names sit on top of the vein colour. Maeng Da is a horticultural selection rather than a place; Bali, Borneo, Malay, Thai and Sumatra all refer to growing regions. If you are new to kratom, the 27-strain sample pack is the cheapest way to work out which ones you actually want by the kilo.

Unopened packages can be returned within 3 days of delivery confirmation. Return shipping is paid by the customer and a 25% restocking fee may apply. What is kratom?
